Pregnant Student?

Are you a pregnant student or parent? Unexpected pregnancy or parenthood does not have to mean your education is over.  You may be asking…

  • How will I tell my parents?
  • Can I finish school?
  • How will I manage school and a baby?
  • Where can I get medical care?
  • What does my future look like?

Know Your Rights as a Pregnant Student

Title IX protects you from discrimination at school. Under Title IX, pregnant students are protected for their rights to education. Teachers and administrative staff, including admissions counselors or financial aid officers, are not allowed to discriminate against a new parent or pregnant student. They are also legally required to help make arrangements for you to be successful as a student.
